Have people ever asked you if you had dandruff? Actually, for most people its dry scalp. I kept complaining to my parents that people kept saying I had dandruff when it was just dry scalp! I asked if there was anything I could so then they gave me Philip B Anti Flake. By the time I went to school the next day, it was gone..GONE! I am so happy that now I use it everyday. Now, none of my classmates tell me that I have dandruff in school anymore thanks to Philip B :) !

Sunday night madness with the Alonys

Last night was what Gary and I call Sunday night madness. Whats the translation? Chaos! Three kids. Need to get them to go to sleep, make sure all weekend homework is done and get ready for the new week. What happens though is Jonathan wants to take a shower, Maya wants to check out the refrigerator and Daniella only wants to spend time straightening my hair. She now enjoys doing every ones hair. Typical teenager! Naturally I let her.She repeats to me so many times, “Please let me straighten your hair!”

O.K. Fine. So she is straightening my hair, but my hair becomes so straight that I look like I belonged on The Adams Family!!

Phytocurl to the rescue! I washed my hair this morning with Phytocurl. This fine product brought my hair back to life. My hair is now curly, shiny and soft. Thanks to Daniella for straightening my hair, and then to the wonderful Phytocurl. which brought my hair back to humanity.

But, I needed a finishing touch to start my week off with great hair, so I grab Philip B Cream of the Crop, just a dab. This tightened my curls and made my hair look like I just came out of the salon, a head full of shiny tight curls. I look glamorous ! Thank you to my teenage daughter and thank you Phyto and Philip B!

A (literal) taste of my own medicine

Recently I was given a (rather awkward) opportunity to try out one of Thompson Chemists best-selling and most beloved products, the Philip B., Anti-Flake Relief Shampoo.

I am rapidly approaching my 25th birthday (yay!) and have been having a string of bad luck including adult acne, a bed bug scare and itchy uncomfortable eczema in my scalp and hairline. *sigh*

Thankfully, I got some antibiotics for my face, turned out not to have bed bugs and now have solved my itchy scalp problem thanks to Philip B.

Despite the fact that I have sold this product a thousand times over in the last few years, and have sung its praises to anyone who cared to listen I had never tried it myself. I just never had dandruff before, and besides which I had learned its merits from a good authority. Additionally, my customers’ responses were overwhelmingly positive (I don’t think I’ve ever had a negative response).

Even so, I was a bit nervous trying it for myself.

So, first of all, it smells like you think a medicinal shampoo would (especially one made partially of coal tar!) but its creamy texture is instantly soothing. I found that it tingled a bit on the most irritated (read:scabby, gross I know) parts of my scalp, but it was a pleasant soothing tingle, like Tiger Balm on sore muscles.

I followed up with Philip B‘s Light Weight Deep Conditioning Creme Rinse and Detangling Toning Mist.

When I inspected my scalp post shower I found that not only did I feel better (no more itching!) but my eczema actually looked better too! The areas that had previously been inflamed and red were now soothed and light pink, like the color of a healing scar. And, as an extra special bonus, my hair looks great! It is clean, soft and managable.
