I woke up this morning feeling as if my face needed a fresh start. “What should I do to wake up my face?” was my very first thought. Well, Jessica came last week from Caudalie and trained us on the products. She gave us all a mini facial where we all needed to have clean faces. She used one pump of the Gentle Cleanser, one pump of the Instant Foaming Cleanser, and a final squeeze of the Gentle Buffing Cream. She rubbed her hands together to mix all the products and to warm them up before she applied it to my face. She started with small circular motions going around my entire face and neck. I am now energized from my facial cleanse. The Buffing Cream has moisturizing grape seed oil and jojoba microbeads and honey — perfect for sensitive skin like mine! The Foaming Cleanser has grape extract, soothing camomile and astringent sage…I also forgot to mention that it is soapless. The last product used was the Gentle Cleanser which has antioxidant grapeseed, soothing cornflower and toning oat extract. I followed this exact routine this morning and I can tell you now that my face now feels velvety smooth, soft, without impurities, no dead skin cells. My face is clean and radiant. My face feels like it is floating on cloud nine! One happy face!

After living in the same apartment in Murray Hill for 21 years, the time has come to move. Gary and I moved into this apartment when we were married. Our three children were born and raised here. We have raised two puppies here and have been very active in the community.

So, it’s really my first time moving. Where do I start? Who do I call first? We need to call the cable company, the electric company, the gym, the dry cleaners not to mention the landlord!!! 

I worry about what to do with all the papers, clothing, pictures and toys that have been collected in the past 21 years! Where am I going to put everything, is it all going to fit? And our friends are making us feel blue because we will no longer be next door. Tear jerker! And our three teenage kids definitely don’t want to move away from their friends!

Here’s what I’ve learned so far. First, one needs a lot of patience and energy when moving! Second: stay calm!! Nothing you do or say will change anything! Third: What you should expect pure exhaustion. Body aches and the feeling of being run down, as though you’re getting sick.  All of this is normal as your body is lacking sleep and running on anxiety. I started feeling run down and achy on day TWO. What did I do to save myself? I decided to go to work and take a break from my stress. I know this sounds backwards, but is as much my home as my actual home.

Now, at Thompson Chemists (and Thompson Alchemists)  we carry Berocca, which is a caffene free source of energy. Caudalie arrives at Thompson-

Well, I  haven’t been to France in quite some time, or a vineyard for that matter!!!! So, let the vineyard and France come to me. Yes, Caudalie has arrived at Thompson Chemists and Thompson Alchemists and we are all excited opening the boxes!

What does Caudalie mean? A unit of measurement of quality that quantifies the duration  of a wine’s flavor on the palate. For each second that the flavor remains this is one Caudalie.  To me “Caudalie” means quality. It means skincare that is derived from grapes! Grape seeds! Resveratrol! Grapevine sap! Organic grape water! Grape seed oil and vinolevure! Who wouldn’t want to give it a try!

I decided that my first product to try would be: The Beauty Elixer- Wow! What a feeling. It has that “ je ne sais quoi!” It is made of grape extract, rosemary, melissa, and mint essential oils and plants. I sprayed on my face before doing my make-up, it tightens the pores and smoothes the skin. My skin felt wide awake, better than a cup of expresso! I need to take a trip to Bordeaux and enjoy a wonderful glass of wine along with my new love for Caudalie.

They say wine gets better with age, and according to Caudalie, aging gets better with the wine! À votre santé. This means cheers in french.
